Celebrating 30 Years of Giving Back

From day one in 1995, pro bono work has been woven into the heart of Lucy & Company. What began as a simple belief that strong communities are built when we show up for one another has become a defining part of our 30-year legacy.

Our first year, we stepped forward to support organizations doing essential work in our region including:

  • Children’s Bereavement Art Group
  • Sacramento Tree Foundation
  • Sacramento Public Relations Association (Lucy serving twice as board president)

As the years progressed, I served on the boards for the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce and the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce including over 20 lobbying trips to Washington DC over the years.

I also donated time and resources to associations focused on our work areas including:

  • Association of California Water Agencies
  • American Public Works Association Sacramento Chapter
  • California Association of Sanitation Agencies

I am a founding member of the Sacramento Walk of Stars, a non-profit organization focused on musicians, artists, actors and athletes from the Sacramento Region who call/called Sacramento their home who have achieved greatness in their craft. I passed the baton to a new board who keeps the program running strong.

Thirty years later, we’re still showing up with our favorite causes although it’s only me (Lucy) working at the firm. Three years ago, I returned to where I started in the mid ‘90s, working as a sole proprietor with a talented team of experts for additional services, as needed. I’m the point of contact and project manager for every client, giving input based on what I’ve experienced on hundreds of other similar projects.

I keep my workload manageable so I can give my clients excellent service and excellent work products 24/7 and have time to volunteer with organizations I’m passionate about including WEAVE (When Everyone Acts, Violence Ends) in Sacramento.
