People, Projects & Progress
"Our projects may not always be the sexiest … except to us. We thrive on your important work." – Lucy Crocker

This is our focus. We help agencies explain complex projects simply and thoroughly, from rate increases and infrastructure upgrades to transportation and environmental projects. Each project begins with research and audience analysis that guides a tailored approach to building understanding, productive participation, and public support.
This is our strength. We plan and facilitate public meetings, workshops, and focus groups that foster open dialogue, encourage listening, and share key information clearly. Often, our role centers on helping groups reach consensus-based decisions — outcomes that everyone understands, supports, and is committed to carrying out.
This is our passion. We design stakeholder and community engagement programs that bring residents, stakeholders, and our clients together early to share information, listen, and explore ideas and solutions. The best way to build trust and support is when the community sees their input reflected as the project progresses.
This is our sweet spot. When clients face challenges or controversy, we help them respond quickly, accurately, and transparently. We anticipate concerns, correct misinformation, and coordinate with both supporters and detractors to ensure input is considered and respected throughout the public engagement process.
Lucy & Company's experience across both public and private sectors gives them a unique understanding of how to align policy, process, and public perception and move projects forward with trust and transparency. We serve clients directly or as a subconsultant. Either way is fine with us!
Lucy Crocker launched Lucy & Company in 1995, a "temporary" consulting role that turned into a 30-year practice dedicated to helping public agencies, developers and associations communicate effectively and confidently.
"After 30 years, I've learned that the most powerful way to approach a project is with transparency, an open mind and clear communication. Without those, public trust erodes and moving forward becomes an uphill battle." – Lucy Crocker
