This year, Lucy & Company celebrates three decades of helping public agencies, developers, and associations communicate effectively and transparently about their projects and programs.
What began in 1995 as a “short-term gig until I found a full-time job” quickly became my life’s work: bridging policy, infrastructure, and public understanding. Back then, public outreach was new territory: no playbooks, just collaboration and the drive to help our clients succeed.
I’ve had the privilege of working with brilliant engineers, planners, rate consultants, agency leaders and more who brought both expertise and heart to every project. Together, we’ve taken on the tough ones: rate increases, wastewater upgrades, drought mandates, flood protection, and the growth challenges that define communities.
Our work has never been about spin. It’s about earning trust through clear, transparent communication and listening with an open mind. From massive pipelines and setback levees to major rate increases and water cutbacks, every effort has shared a common thread: trust, earned one project, one team, and one community at a time.
I’m proud of what our work represents: not just infrastructure, but progress; not just messaging but meaning. And, I’m deeply grateful for the clients, employees and colleagues who’ve made these 30 years possible.
